The Island is an 11 acres desert sanctuary where you find four eco-friendly facilities, each of them with specific purposes.
The landscape is exhilarating and brings in plentiful inspiration as well as inner peace due to its location in the magnificent Sonoran Desert. The exuberant Saguaro National Park is our neighbor and we acknowledge with respect the Tohono O’odham Nations, the indigenous peoples on whose ancestral lands The Island In Tucson now stands.
Picture Rock which is the little village next to The Island took its name from the engraved rocks we can see while hiking a few minutes from there. We believe in The Island with of our profound respect for the local culture; contemporary art is able to coexist beautifully and harmoniously with ancestral native art.
