At The Island In Tucson we welcome artists who want to make art on site in full relation with nature. It does not mean artists have to be ecologist and it does not mean either their work have to stay on site afterwards either. We have had the pleasure and honor so far to welcome Khaled Jarrar who wanted to prepare a performance in an open and safe environment. Sonya Berry spent many days at The Island for the making of a maze that was used for a performance and an art video project. Maria Beaty spent few days on the site with her team and actors for her new film to be released. Emily Gray-Wollard is still working on her land art project that will be permanent and will as well be the object for a series of performances and photographies as well. Finally Olivier Dubois-Cherrier who lives and works on the property has a permanent studio in which he paints, sculpts, develop land art projects and assist artists who come for working at The Island.
